Confession (告白)

A moment when a character directly reveals romantic feelings to another person. In anime storytelling, confession is often treated as a major emotional milestone rather than the end of the romance narrative.

Manzai (漫才)

A traditional Japanese comedy performance usually performed by two comedians who exchange rapid dialogue based on misunderstanding, exaggeration, and correction. One performer plays the boke (the foolish one), while the other plays the tsukkomi (the corrector).

Rakugo (落語)

A traditional Japanese storytelling performance where a single performer narrates an entire humorous story while portraying multiple characters. The performer remains seated and uses only voice, timing, and minimal gestures to create a complete narrative.

A deliberate distortion of truth — in anime, often used not only to deceive others, but to protect, perform, survive, or construct identity. In Japanese storytelling, a lie is rarely just false information. It is often structural.
